One-Pot Honey Garlic Chicken
Calling all honey garlic lovers! This One-Pan Honey Garlic Chicken is a one-way ticket to flavor town - juicy chicken thighs coated in a sticky, sweet sauce that will have you licking your plate clean!
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- Optional garnish: sliced green onions and sesame seeds
Instructions:
- Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Pour the sauce into the pan with the garlic and stir to combine.
- In another small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Add the slurry to the sauce in the pan and stir well. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
- Return the cooked chicken breasts to the pan, turning them to coat them in the sauce. Allow them to simmer in the sauce for another 2-3 minutes.
- Once the chicken is heated through and the sauce has thickened to your liking, remove the pan from the heat.
- Garnish the chicken with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
- Serve the honey garlic chicken hot, either on its own or with rice, quinoa, or your favorite side dish.
